Overview

Our goal is to reach and assist high school and college students across the Jurisdiction of Alabama. We will award the Diann and Parker Hawkins scholarship to an eligible student planning to attend or attending a two or four-year College or University in the State of Alabama. The financial award will be paid directly to the educational institution upon the verification of
satisfactory scholastic achievement of: (1) high school graduation and (2) successful completion of the first semester and student enrollment status for the second semester.

Criteria:

  •  The applicant for the scholarship award must be a graduating high school senior.
  • The applicant must plan to attend a two or four-year College or University in the State of Alabama on a full time undergraduate basis
  • Enrolled applicants must be in good standing and meet all of the eligibility
    requirements

Eligibility

  • Resident of the jurisdiction of Alabama
  • A graduating high school senior approved and accepted for admission to a two or four-year College or University in the State of Alabama.
  • Currently enrolled in an Alabama College or University in good standing (if a continuing awardee)
  • Minimum Grade Point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
  • Award is based on fund availability.

Application Process

  1. Forward completed application by deadline date — July 1, Current Yeat
  2. Forward an official transcript, certified by the Registrar’s Office or high school counselor. (Final decision will be based on end of school year GPA.)
  3. Provide ACT or SAT score.
  4. Attach evidence of acceptance to College or University.
  5. Attach a brief biography of you including, but not limited to, extracurricular/community activities, positions of leadership, honors and awards. (1 page or less)
  6. Attach a detailed statement and any other pertinent information that will explain your financial need.
  7. Attach a copy of applicant’s most recent Student Aid Report (SAR) and the Financial Aid Award Letter received the College or University
    Current students, please provide your campus address.
  8. The Prince Hall Legacy Foundation of Alabama Inc reserves the right to approve or decline any application forwarded to the Club’s attention for consideration of scholarship fund award.
